Valerie Brons, MRCVS
Dr. Brons celebrates her 10 year anniversary at West Valley Pet Clinic in 2018. Have you ever met a trail vet from the Iditarod dog sled race? Well, Dr. Brons is one of them! Aside from holding this coveted volunteer position, she is the former President of the Santa Clara Veterinary Medical Association and loves to attend conferences focusing on canine/feline medicine and surgery as well as avian and pocket pets. She has also served many times on the interview admissions committee of her veterinary school.
Originally from Monte Sereno, Dr. Brons graduated from London’s AVMA-accredited Royal Veterinary College in 2004 after finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis. She worked in mixed animal practice for 3 years in Europe before returning to settle first in Monterey, then in San Jose, California.
Three critters and a fellow pet-adoring husband complete her household. When not working, Dr. Brons enjoys the opera, hot glass studios, ethnic cooking classes, and vacations that involve bird watching in rainforests.
Professional Interests: Dentistry, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, senior feline medicine, canine dermatology, exotics (parrots to ferrets, hedgehogs to guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, and more).
